National Unity Issues

UPND is truly a national party with Councilors and Members of Parliament in over five provinces. Most of the Zambians voted for Dr. Kenneth Kaunda in 1964 and Dr. Chiluba in 1991 without regional and tribal prejudice. Even in regions such as Western, North-western and Southern provinces which had strong contenders for the office of president. (Arthur Wina and Baldwin Nkumbula at the MMD convention, people voted for Chiluba in 1991 and1993 respectively). They never voted on tribal lines because they are not tribalists.

UPND promotes a One Zambia, One Nation theme.
